Band Bio After years of playing music with various bands, Gene wanted to put together a 4 piece band that could stand up to the requirements of demanding house work. This would mean loyal, dedicated members, and relentless devotion to professionalism. He had a good head-start since he and Joy were performing as a duo. Gene held Auditions for Drums and Bass in an old rented store in Tampa. Rehearsal, and refining lasted about six months. THE ROLLIN' RIVER BAND original members were Gene, Joy, Kevin and Tom. After a couple years, Gene replaced Tom and Kevin with Rich and Shawnee. Jim later replaced Joy. The band members are now an inseparable family. All the hard work has really paid off. Each is dedicated to professionalism, quality, reputation, and connect with their audience like magic. The band also was very active
with the Florida Country Music
Association, and other programs,
benefits and jamborees. The crowds grew and the
friends and followers became even more devoted.

The band is frequently visited by other musicians and local celebrities. One of the most enjoyed is Mr. Dave McKay, who drops by occasionally and jams with us. We really appreciate Dave's support and friendship. See his picture page too. Michelle has dedicated hundreds of hours of hard work creating and maintaining our web site. We are really proud of this web site. Please thank her when you can. She is truly heaven sent! We are so lucky to have her on our team. She occasionally sings with us and brings the house down! Some of the house gigs include: The Harbor Club, The Why Not, Kelly's Hideaway, JB's, Lorraine's Neon Moon, The Bullfrog Creek Lounge, The Silver Dollar Saloon, Eastside Lounge and the Roadhouse. Other brief spots are: Full Throttle, JR's, Obrien's, Southern Ground, Auburndale speedway. |
